To add to the long list of amazing things and events happening in downtown Houston, we have ATLAS at one of the best parks and right in the heart of downtown Houston!
ATLAS by Jen Lewin
ATLAS is an interactive public installation by internationally well known artist Jen Lewin, featuring huge hand-crafted and hand-painted glowing moths installations at Discovery Green, one of Houston’s fav parks!
These installations are set up for viewing at Discovery Green’s Brown Promenade that’s lined with 100+ year old majestic huge oak trees that’ll be bordering both sides of the walk!
The beautiful hand-crafted moths will be hung from the trees, making it a beautiful experience for everyone who walks on the brown promenade as the moths glow on sensing motion under them – thus, making them really interactive and fun!
The beautiful message and purpose of ATLAS
The ATLAS is aimed at spreading awareness about how these endangered moths play the vital role in the natural lifecycle of plants and trees in the region.
Each installation represents a unique endangered North American moth species. There are 24 beautiful installations in total!

Jen Lewin – The Artist Behind The Art
Jen Lewin is an internationally recognized Artist – Engineer.
She’s known worldwide to use her artistic and technical expertise to create beautiful interactive installations all around the world!
She is also Art Lab’s annual lead artist, commissioned by Discovery Green to create and set up the annual winter art installation at the park.
Date, Timings and Tickets for ATLAS
It’s open for visit every day from 06:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. until Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.
Just a Tip – Try to visit later during the day when it’s a bit dark so y’all can watch the installations glow better and enjoy your walk in the midst of beautiful park and Houston lights!
There are no tickets required for ATLAS! It’s completely free! You’ll just have to enter the park, which doesn’t require tickets either.
You may be required to purchase tickets if you wanna join any other event at Discovery Green that requires a ticket.

The Discovery Green park is located at 1500 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77010, United States.

There are plenty of parking options from metered parking spaces, parking garages, etc.

Discovery Green
Established right in the heart of downtown Houston, Discovery Green is one of the best parks Houston has. It is spread across 12 acres!
