A Lil’ History About The Magical Winter Lights

This year, Magical Winter Lights will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, being first begun in the year 2014 i.e. to celebrate the welcome of the year 2015!

Yusi An Cheng, the founder and president of People Generation, is the founder of Magical Winter Lights. She was born in china but has lived most of her life in Houston. Her family comes from a town in China that first created lanterns! How cool is that?! Having visited many lantern festivals in China became an inspiration to Yusi, and that’s how Magical Winter Lights was born to bring a Texas touch to Chinese lantern art.

You’ll even find a whole section of lanterns as a tribute to the Chinese culture.

“Magical Winter Lights aims to create a brand-new holiday light show experience to Houstonians of all ages. We are excited to partner with a top-notch lantern company from China to start a new holiday tradition for Houston families for many years to come, and in more cities throughout the U.S. in the future.”
Yusi Cheng An (Founder of Magical Winter Lights)

Fun Fact: The lanterns you’ll see are made on-site by authentic Chinese lantern artists from the very town lantern creation started.
