This week was indeed a real cold one, so glad that weather’s gonna warm up in the following week for Houston and surrouding areas. 🏙 🌳

Let’s hope that the weather will continue to behave as we enter into march! Why you ask? It’s because the annual Brazoria County bike ride event, Tour De Braz, will be happening on March 8, 2025. 🚴‍♀️💨

Tour de Braz 2025 – The Brief

Tour de Braz, the annual bike ride event that takes the cyclists through the beautiful landscapes of the Brazoria County is back this year. This year’s Tour de Braz will be happening on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The cyclists will have the option to choose from 4 different distances – 35 mi, 47 mi. 67 mi and 100 mi. The event will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. at Alvin Community College.

The Packet Pickup will be held on March 6th & 7th at City of Alvin Fire and EMS station from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. (Event day packet pick up is available but not recommended.)

Whether it’s your first time or if you’re a seasoned cyclist, Tour de Braz has something for everyone.


Tour de Braz 2025 – The Annual Brazoria County Bike Ride Event

The 32nd Annual Tour de Braz ( Title sponsor – UTMB Health) Bike Ride presented by Visit Alvin will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025.

Taking the riders through sceneic landscape of the Brazoria County (located south of Houston), Tour de Braz also gives the riders an opportunity to give back to the community through their participation in the event by supporting the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department with its proceeds.

You can visit their official website here. Additionally, you can text “tourdebraz” to 888-777 to receive notifications about the event. It’s also a good idea to follow them on their facebook page for updates.

Registration

Registration for the Tour de Braz bike ride event is now open. Click here to register.

The first 500 registrants receive a t-shirt.

Y’all can choose from 4 different routes :

  • 35 miles
  • 47 miles
  • 67 miles
  • 100 miles

The fee to register for all routes are the same i.e. $45.

If y’all register as group with your loved ones, y’all get $5 off per person, so the fee would be $40 per person.

Children (between ages 12 to 15 as of 3/8/2025 ) cannot register for the 100 mile route. But for other routes, their registration will cost $20.

After March 6th, the registration price will go up by $10.

You may choose to edit your online registration information, transfer to another category, or transfer your registration to another participant free of charge until March 5th, 2025

Last day for registration : There’s no last day for registration, but yeah as mentioned earlier, registration fee will go after March 6th. Y’all can choose to register (starts at 6:15 a.m.) on the event day, but it is recommended that y’all register beforehand.

Only online registration is available for the Tour de Braz, 2025

If you’d like to register on the event day, y’all will be required to scan a QR code at Alvin Community College and register online. There’ll be literally no paperwork this year. It’ll all be simply online. The registration on the event day starts at 6:15 a.m.

Timings

The event will start at 7:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. in the evening, giving all riders of different races enough time to complete their course.

Tour de Braz 2025 – Packet Pick-Up

The Early Packet Pick-Up for the Tour de Braz 2025 will be happening at the City of Alvin Fire and EMS Station 801 east south street Alvin, TX 77511 on March 6th & 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Parking At The Packet Pickup On March 6th & 7th

There’ll be plenty of space available around the Fire And EMS Station to park on the Packet Pick-Up day.

Make sure to wear/attach your bib on the front and as well as on the back making sure it’s clearly visible.

Would you rather prefer picking up your packet on the event day?

For riders who registered before March 6th – Y’all can get your packet at the ACC Student Center (E on the map) from 6:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. Simply walk straight through the Alvin Community College courtyard!

For those of y’all who registered after March 6th – Follow signage to Same-Day Packet Pick-Up (from 6:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.) at the Alvin Community College.

Tour de Braz 2025 – What To Expect On The Event Day

Are you excited for the Tour de Braz 2025? I’m sure the thrill and excitement will fill up the air at the Alvin Community College on the event day. There’ll be so many awesome things y’all can expect, some of them are:

Beautiful Landscapes : Brazoria County is one of the most beautiful places in Texas, especially if you love the countryside like I do. Depending on the distances you’ll be riding, you’ll pass through various beautiful green, pleasant places like the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge and a few streets with funny names too, for instance – “It’s complicated Dr”, and the “What happened was” Ave.

Support And Gear (SAG) Vehicles : SAG and the police will be around to assist you.

Oh, and as all riders are required to come back to the Alvin Community College by 5:00 p.m., SAG drivers will be offering rides back to base around 5:00 p.m. if you need help to get back.

Rest stops : Rest stops will be located every 10-14 miles offering water, drinks, snacks, minor medical assistance and bike assistance. Portable toilets are set up at the rest stops too.

Location And Parking

Tour de Braz will start at the Alvin Community College located at 3110 Mustang Road Alvin, TX 77511, near Parking Lot B.

You’ll find plenty of parking space around the Alvin Community College to park your cars.


Things To Remember Before & During The Event

  • Arrive early, especially if you’ve still got to pick your packet or register on the event day.
  • Check weather and dress accordingly.
  • It’s always a good idea to have your bike checked and inspected before the event to ensure your bike is in good working condition. Check brakes, gears, and tires are working properly.
  • Make sure to cool down and stretch at the rest stops.
  • Make sure to eat something healthy (like energy bars or gels) before and during the ride to maintain energy levels.
  • Obey traffic laws.
  • Helmets are mandatory. Plus, wearing gloves, and protective eyewear does provide more help.
  • Carry lots of water with you to keep yourself hydrated. You can also use a camelbak hydration pack.

Tour de Braz 2025 – Event Cancellations And Refunds

Ride will be held rain or shine, unless weather turns really severe. In case the events are to be cancelled y’all will be updated via the email you used for registering.

The information regarding the refunds or postponing of the event will be shared as well.

Road Clousures For The Tour de Braz 2025

There’ll be no road closures for Tour de Braz but the SAG (Support & Gear) vehicles and the Cops will be around for assistance.

Plus, the event will start at 7:00 a.m. on the March 8, 2025 so y’all can expect almost little to no traffic.

For those of y’all covering longer miles, it is requested that y’all stay to the right side of the road. Y’all might encounter a few vehicles along the way but it’ll be an easy going over all.
